History in brief

The Scandinavian Academy of Esthetic Dentistry (SAED) was founded in 1996 in Copenhagen. The mission statement included the desire to form an inter-Nordic (Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland) inter-disciplinary Academy to promote and educate esthetic dentistry to both the general population as well as among the profession.
Since 1996, the Academy has arranged at least one meeting per year, alternating between Denmark, Norway and Sweden, inviting both internationally renowned speakers, as well as local luminaries representing all specialities within dentistry, including as a vital part, laboratory technicians.

The founder of the Academy, David Winkler (Windsor, England), served as president for the first 5 years. As Founding President, David Winkler has an honorary presidential position, and although the day-to-day operations of the organisation are lead by the President, the Founding President has the right to attend the Executive Council meetings and to serve on committees for the organisation.
